Eric R. Anger, MD
Doctor of Medicine
Dr. Eric Anger is part of Valley Health Care’s growing provider team. Dr. Anger attended West Virginia University where he received a B.A. in Biology, and later, his doctorate.
Dr. Anger completed his internship with West Virginia University Family Medicine in 2001. While fulfilling residence requirements, he was Associate Chief Resident from 2001-2002 and Chief Resident from 2002- 2003. He began his professional career in Elkins, WV in 2003 and owned his own practice in 2008 and 2009. He then joined Arbor Medical Associates which became part of Valley Health Care in 2011.
Dr. Anger has been the recipient of numerous awards including Resident of the Year and Randolph County People’s Choice for three years. He also received the Employee of the Month award in December 2015. In addition to providing routine health care, Dr. Anger is a Certified Medical Examiner for US Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Dr. Anger is originally from Elkins, WV where he still resides with his wife, Rachel, and their three children. He volunteers his time to work with various local sports leagues including Rays Swimming, Elkins Otters and Elkins Little League. Eric enjoys bicycling and fishing in his spare time.

Mary Boyd, MD
Doctor of Medicine
Mary Boyd, M.D., has been a pediatrician with Valley Health Care since January 1st, 2017. Dr. Boyd earned a B.S. at West Virginia Wesleyan College. She went on to receive her M.D. at West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed her residency with the West Virginia University School of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics. We are very proud of the work she has done with the kids in our community.

Native of Randolph County. Graduating from Elkins High School with the class of 2007. Attending Alderson Broaddus University for undergraduate degree, then afterward attending graduate school in the Physician Assistant Program at AB. Graduating in 2014. Employed with Valley Health Care starting in 2014.
Cameron Farley, PA-C
Certified Physician Assistant
Cameron Farley joined the Valley Health Care team in November of 2013. He attended Alderson-Broaddus University on two separate occasions. During his first years at ABU, he played on the men’s basketball team. In 2004, he was awarded All Scholar Athlete of the Year. He graduated that same year with a Bachelor’s of Science in Marketing and Business Administration.
Cameron has worked as a stockbroker, as well as in collections. In 2010, Cameron returned to ABU to pursue his dream of becoming a physician’s assistant. He graduated top of his class in 2013 with a Master’s of Science-Physician’s Assistant studies and a Bachelor’s of Science in biology with a minor in chemistry.
Cameron is originally from Beckley, WV. He currently resides in Elkins with his wife, Farrah, and their children. He enjoys watching movies, spending time with his family, working out, and playing basketball.
Cameron says that being a Physician Assistant is his dream job. He enjoys meeting and taking care of patients. Appointments with Cameron can be made by contacting Valley Health Care in Elkins.
Denise Leach, PA-C
Certified Physician Assistant
Denise Leach joined the Valley Health Care team in the fall of 2015. She received an Associates in Nursing from D & E College and later a Master of Science in Medical Sciences from Alderson-Broadus University. Denise has practiced primary care for several years. She has an extensive background in Physician Assistant education. She also enjoys dermatology.
Denise is originally from Randolph County, WV. She currently resides in Barbour County, and has two sons. Her interests include traveling, reading, gardening, and crafts. Denise serves as a board member for Barbour County Health Department.
Denise is available by appointment, at both Valley Health Care locations: in Mill Creek and Elkins.
Carol Williams, PA-C
Carol Williams, PA-C, joined the Valley Health Care staff on December 12th, 2017, and has been a valuable member alongside our other team members ever since. Carol earned her B.A. in Natural Science, as well as her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, at Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia.
Carol Williams is available to see patients at our Elkins location on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. She is also available at our Mill Creek location on Thursdays and Fridays. When she is not attending to the community’s health care needs, Carol’s hobbies include running, swimming, gardening, and participating in community fellowship.
Appointments with Carol are available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at our Elkins office.
Rachel Anger, C-PNP
Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Rachel Anger is part of Valley Health Care’s growing provider team. Rachel attended West Virginia University. She received a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing for Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. While attending WVU, she received numerous awards including WVU Outstanding Senior, Big East Honorable Mention, and Sigma Theta Tai, Nursing Honorary. Rachel is a certified SANE Examiner and she works with the child Advocacy Center on abuse cases.
Rachel is originally from Bridgeport, WV. She currently resides in Elkins with her husband and three children. She is actively involved with Child Advocacy Center and is the President of Elkins Otters. She serves on the PTO at Third Ward Elementary and hosts princesses for the Mountain State Forest Festival.
Rachel enjoys running and swimming. She volunteers her time to help with the Elkins Middle School track team. She also coaches various sports. Rachel has been a valuable part of the Valley Health Care team since 2011.
Patricia Kay Haddix, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Patricia Haddix has joined the behavioral health team at Valley Health Care She attended Marshal University and graduated Magna Cum Laude. While at Marshall, Patricia was a member of Gamma Beta Phi. Patricia received her license in professional counseling in 2001. She has worked as a counselor for 10 years and was previously a counselor with Juvenile Drug Court.
Patricia is originally from Valley Bend, WV and currently resides in East Dailey. She has three children, two stepchildren, and four granddaughters. She enjoys spending time with her family and attending her children’s sports events. Patricia is an active member of LDS Church where she also plays the piano.
Patricia is currently seeing patients at both VHC locations in Elkins and Mill Creek.
Heather Ritchie, APRN, NP-C
Heather Ritchie decided to join the family at Valley Health Care and officially did so in February 2019. In 2009, Heather became an RN of emergency medicine and was a travel RN for multiple states for 5 years, which she got to do with her spouse, Shane, of 12 years. Heather then graduated in December 2018 from Chamberlain University with distinction, earning her Master degree and the titles of APRN and NP-C.
Born and raised in Tucker County WV, Heather has the spirit of an outdoorsman. Her hobbies include the likes of kayaking, camping, hiking, traveling, or just about anything outside in the warm weather. She enjoys this time with her husband, Shane, and their two dogs, Roxy and Ringo.
Appointments with Heather are available at our Elkins location every Wednesday and Friday. She is also available for appointments at our Mill Creek location every Tuesday and Thursday.
