Candice Pudder has worked in retail pharmacy for 13 years. She is also a Diabetes Counselor for PEIA. Candice is a certified immunizing pharmacist and a preceptor for WVU School of Pharmacy. Candice graduated WVU School of Pharmacy Magna Cum Laude. She received numerous awards including Honor’s Program Scholar, Dean’s Leadership Award, TRIO Achiever Award, and Kroger Pharmacist of the Year. Candice has also been recognized as Best of Region Pharmacist.

Candice is originally from Harman, WV. She currently resides in Dailey with her husband and two young daughters. Candice is very active in her community. She serves as the Vice President for Homestead School PTA, Chairperson for Homestead School Playground Project, and Treasurer of Tygart Valley Youth Football and Cheer Association. She is a member of Summit Church.

Carl Hedrick, Jr. is a West Virginia native. Originally from Parsons, he now resides in Elkins where is an active community member. Carl is Past Master Pythagoras Masonic Lodge in Parsons. He is a Member of Scottish Rite and Beni Kedem Shrine Temple. He has previously served as Director of Royal Order of Jesters and of Director’s Staff. He is currently a member of York Rite in Elkins and the Moose Lodge, in addition to being an officer of Elks Lodge.

Mr. Hedrick graduated from WVU School of Pharmacy in 1970. He was a member of the WV Board of Pharmacy for 25 years. During that time, he served as vice president for three years and president for two years. Carl is a member of NABP and served on the accreditation committee of the School of Pharmacy in Charleston, WV.

Carl is married and has three children and six grandchildren. His hobbies include hunting and playing golf.

Melissa Hines Defibaugh, RPH Registered Pharmacist

Melissa Defibaugh attended West Virginia University and graduated from the WVU School of Pharmacy in 1996. She received first place in WV Patient Counseling Competition that same year as well as the Roche Pharmacy Communications Award. Melissa is a Certified Immunizing Pharmacist.

She served on the WVU School of Pharmacy Committee for Continuing Education for seven years and is a member of WV Pharmacists Association. She is a former member of the American Pharmaceutical Association, Lambda Kappa Sigma Pharmacy Service Fraternity and Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Honorary. Recently, Melissa received the VHC Employee of the Month Award for Effective Leadership.

Melissa was raised in Mill Creek, WV where she still resides with her husband and two children. Melissa said, “I feel extremely lucky and proud to be able to offer a valuable healthcare service and pharmaceutical care to the community I love and grew up in.” In addition to holding the position of Director of Pharmacy for Valley Health Care Pharmacy, Melissa is an active citizen in southern Randolph County. She has held multiple offices for Upper Valley Youth Soccer League for over eight years. She volunteers at George Ward Elementary for various events and committees, in addition to the WV Read Aloud Program. She has been the March of Dimes Walk America Team Captain for three years and a participant for eight years. She also participates in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and is a Team Captain.
